It's been 2 years (exactly!) since we started making our way home to the states from our mission trip in Kigoma, Tanzania. Although a couple years has past, we often think about Joy in the Harvest and the friends we made in Kigoma. We both loved this experience and know that it greatly influenced our lives and marriage (and hopefully the lives of people in Tanzania too!).
Since our time there, Paul started running marathons and- as it turns out- he is very good at it! He won the last marathon that he ran (the Milwaukee Lake Front Marathon) and is now planning on running the Boston Marathon on April 15th.
This event has opened the opportunity for us to combined our compassion for missions with Paul's amazing God-given talent of running. Joy in the Harvest is currently working on creating a radio station in Western Tanzania that would share the gospel, promote a sense of community (local choirs would be able to be recorded and aired) and spread important medical information to rural areas (AIDs awareness, infant care, etc). Paul has decided to dedicate his run to this cause by asking people to sponsor each mile of his race.
As those closest to Paul and myself, we ask that you would consider supporting Paul and Joy in the Harvest with your pledge, prayers, and/or any other loving support you would like to offer. Please visit Joy's website (www.radiojoy.org) for more information, Paul's training updates and- on race day- frequent updates of his Boston Marathon progress/results.I am so proud of Paul, not only with his accomplishments in running, but especially how he is using this talent to better the lives of others!

Go Paul!
