We are extremely excited and nervous for this trip. Despite all the planning, researching, and talking to people from the area, we still don't know exactly what to expect (but of course, you never do). All we can do is try to pack as best as we can and keep an open mind. Looking at it realistically we know that there will be both good and bad experiences, things will get tough at times, while other moments will be rewarding; but at all times we need to keep things in perspective- for us this is a short term, life changing experience, while for others, it is their whole lives. Because of this, we will try to do everything we can for this community during our time there, even if it requires us to dig in and grit our teeth once in a while.
It is extremely helpful knowing that we have so many people thinking about us, praying for us, and reading our blog at home. This would be daunting experience without the support of so many family and friends.
So, on that note- GOODBYE! We will blog again once we have safely arrived in Kigoma and are settled in.
....and I love sharing pictures so here is one from our wedding.
